Secondment opportunities
The three-month Trainee Secondment Programme provides practical insight into another legal jurisdiction and business environment. Popular locations include Sydney, Chicago, Washington, Moscow, Hong Kong and Singapore, but opportunities are available elsewhere, according to the particular practice area you are interested in pursuing.
Depending on client needs, we are also able to offer trainee secondments to clients’ in-house legal teams, giving you the chance to deepen your knowledge and skills and to gain a better understanding of the client’s business.
Once you have a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience, you can apply to go on our Associate Training Programme (ATP), which involves working in one of our overseas offices for between six months and two years. It is one of the most effective tools for ensuring that you truly understand the international environment in which much of our work takes place. It enables you to build lasting relationships right across our diverse organisation and enhance our sense of global teamwork.
